RES05-04 Reserving IP Resources for Expansion and HA
The cloud networks must support scalability and high availability to provide sufficient resources during automatic scaling or service expansion on the cloud.
- Risk level
High
- Key strategies
The cloud network planning and design must meet the following requirements:
- Plan separate VPCs for each region based on service needs. Assign independent address spaces to each VPC. Reserve IP address spaces for creating VPCs.
- Plan subnets and IP address spaces for each VPC based on service needs. Reserve IP address spaces for creating subnets.
- Reserve IP address spaces for each subnet for network capacity expansion.
- Connect your network to others like VPCs, IDCs, or other clouds only if their IP address spaces do not conflict.
