Backup Data Redundancy
Description
CBR allows you to create multi-AZ vaults to store the backup data to multiple AZs of a region. If one AZ fails, data can still be accessed from other AZs. This is suitable for scenarios that require high reliability.
Differences between single-AZ and multi-AZ:
- Single-AZ: Backup data is stored in a single AZ, with lower costs.
- Multi-AZ: Backup data is stored in multiple AZs to achieve higher reliability.
Constraints
- Backup data redundancy policy cannot be changed after a vault is created.
- Existing backups cannot be migrated to multi-AZ backup vaults.
- Multiple-AZ data redundancy is not supported for replication vaults.
