Description

The service bandwidth indicates the clean service bandwidth forwarded to the origin server from the AAD scrubbing center. It is recommended that the service bandwidth be greater than or equal to the egress bandwidth of the origin server.

Elastic bandwidth is the maximum bandwidth (postpaid) for your traffic.

Your traffic can exceed the service bandwidth for 36 hours per month. Beyond this limit, the protection capacity will be reduced. You are advised to enable elastic bandwidth.

After the elastic bandwidth is enabled, if your actual bandwidth exceeds the service bandwidth, the elastic bandwidth will be automatically enabled to avoid rate limiting and packet loss.

Will I Be Charged for Using the Bandwidth of CNAD Advanced?

The service bandwidth is a billing item in each CNAD Advanced edition. However, compared with AAD (traffic needs to be diverted to the AAD equipment room for scrubbing, which incurs extra service bandwidth fees over the Internet), CNAD Advanced directly retrieves traffic inside Huawei Cloud without incurring extra service bandwidth fees over the Internet.

What Should I Do If the Protection Capacity of CNAD Deteriorates After the Service Bandwidth Exceeds the Threshold?

Wait for the protection capacity to automatically reset next month.
Upgrade the service bandwidth of the instance. For details, see Modifying Specifications of an Instance.

How Is Elastic Bandwidth Billed?

Elastic bandwidth can be billed in two modes: daily 95th percentile billing and monthly 95th percentile billing.

Daily 95th percentile billing
Traffic is averaged over 5-minute intervals throughout each calendar day. These 5-minute peaks are sorted in descending order, the top 5% are discarded, and the highest remaining value is taken as the billing bandwidth. The following figure illustrates how to calculate the daily 95th percentile billing bandwidth.
