Description
Chinese mainland: Only BGP is supported. Outside the Chinese mainland: Only AnyCast is supported.
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is used for routing between autonomous systems (ASs). BGP is the only protocol that can process many connections between independent routing domains.
- Anycast is a network addressing and routing method where a single IP address is shared by devices (usually servers) at multiple locations. When a packet is sent to the shared IP address, the network uses its standard routing algorithms to route the traffic to the optimal destination (usually the one requiring the minimum BGP network hops). It is usually used to achieve high reliability and load balancing.
