Changing the Name of a Lite Server

Description

During routine cloud service management, you may need to name or rename ECSs to better manage and identify instances. To improve user experience, you can change the name of a Lite Server.

  • You can change the names of common nodes in the Common node tab on the Lite Servers page or the node details page. Duplicate names are allowed.
  • You can change the names of child nodes in the Supernodes tab on the Lite Servers page or the node details page. Duplicate names are allowed.

Constraints

  • The server name in the order will not be changed. If you change the name after placing the order, the new name will not be synchronized to the order.
  • When the resource type of a Lite Server is a BMS or an ECS, modifying the server name on the BMS or ECS console will not automatically sync to the Lite Server. You must perform a manual synchronization. For details, see Synchronizing the Status of a Lite Server.
  • If a supernode is used to create a Lite Server, you can only change the name of its child nodes. The supernode name cannot be changed.
  • You can modify the server name only when the Lite Server status is Running or Stopped.
  • The Lite Server name cannot be left blank.
  • If duplicate names are now allowed, and you enter an existing name, a message will be displayed, indicating that the cloud service has been used.
