Configuring Networks for LakeFormation Data Sources
Overview
To ensure secure and stable network communications between DataArts Migration and LakeFormation, you need to use VPCEP. This process involves creating an access client, configuring a VPCEP endpoint, and configuring domain name resolution.
Prerequisites
- You have created a VPC and a subnet where DataArts Migration is located.
- You have enabled LakeFormation.
- You have sufficient quotas for VPCEP, DNS, and VPC.
Creating a Client for Accessing LakeFormation
- Create a LakeFormation data connection for metadata management.
- Log in to the LakeFormation console.
- In the navigation pane on the left, choose Clients. In the right pane, click Create.
- Configure the VPC and subnet where DataArts Migration is located. Figure 1 Creating a client
- Check or configure domain name resolution (DNS/VPCEP).
When you create a client for accessing LakeFormation, a private DNS and a VPCEP endpoint are created for you by default. However, if your quotas are insufficient, the DNS and VPCEP endpoint cannot be automatically created.
If the DNS or VPCEP quota is insufficient, delete the client for accessing LakeFormation, increase the quota, and create a client again.
