Viewing the Call Relationships Between Applications in the Global Topology
Each line in the topology indicates the call relationship between services within a period. The statistics can be collected from the calling or called party. You can click a line to view the call trend on the right. The topology can also display the call relationships between middleware. On the topology, you can view the call relationships between services and check whether the calls between services are normal to quickly locate faults.
You can view the global topology of some or all components of the current application, and the global topology of components of one or more applications.
Procedure
- Log in to the APM console.
- Click
on the left and choose Management & Governance > Application Performance Management. - In the navigation pane on the left, choose Performance Monitoring > Global Topology. On the displayed page, view the call and dependency relationships of all components of the application.
- View the call and dependency relationships of all components of one or more applications.
You can also perform the following operations if needed:
- Select one or more applications from the Application drop-down list.
- Click the button next to Third-party invocation. If the button is
, only the calls between components are displayed. If the button is
, the calls of external components are displayed. - Toggle on Application Topology. The call relationships of the selected application will then be displayed.
- Set a time range to view data. Click the time dimension selection button and set a time range. Default: Last 20 minutes. Options: Last 3 minutes, Last 5 minutes, Last 10 minutes, Last 20 minutes, Last 1 hour, Last 3 hours, Last 6 hours, Last day, Today, Yesterday, Last week, Last month, and Custom.
- Alarm Latency: can be 0.5s, 1s, 3s, 5s, or 10s.
- Error Latency: can be 1s, 3s, 5s, 10s, or 15s.
- Right-click an application and choose View Topology Details from the shortcut menu. The component topology of the application is displayed.
- Click a line in the diagram. The detailed data such as the number of requests, average RT, and error rate, and line graphs are displayed on the right.
- Click the drop-down list in the upper left corner of the line graph and select an instance.
- Click
in the upper right corner of the line graph. All instance views corresponding to a parameter are displayed. - The diagram shows the call relationships between components and enables you to check the traces between components.
- The function of redirecting to the trace page is supported only by Agent 2.5.3 or later.
- Click
to obtain the latest information in the statistical period. - Click
to download the topology.
