Configuring Event Variables

Scenario

After you define an event source, you can create the message fields of the event source as event variables and use them in rules.

You can manage event variables on the event variable page. This page displays the association between event source message fields and event variables. To build the association, you need the data source information and event variable information. You can select an event source, and create, modify, and save the association to manage the event variables of the event source.

Procedure

1. Log in to the RTD web UI as a service user and select a tenant. For details, see section Accessing the RTDService Web UI.
2. Choose Business Management > Variable and Rule Configuration > Event Variables.
3. (Optional) In the event variable list, modify the event variable name corresponding to the Message Protocol Field and click Save.
   

   • Before you modify a variable that has been brought online, you need to take the variable offline.
   • The prefix of the event variable name must be ev_.
   • The variable name is case insensitive and must start with a letter or underscore (_). A name can contain a maximum of 30 characters, including [A-Z], [a-z], [0-9] and _.

4. Select a variable and click Online to bring the event variable online.
