Product Lifecycle
FlexusRDS extends the lifecycle of MySQL Community Edition. New versions are released during the extended period only to fix issues that severely affect the security and stability of DB instances. FlexusRDS does not promise to fix all major security or stability issues because the MySQL community keeps security information confidential.
FlexusRDS provides a fully managed database service by leveraging the open-source MySQL. This section describes the versioning policy of FlexusRDS. When creating a DB instance or migrating data, you need to select a suitable version.
Huawei Cloud extends the lifecycle to provide more time for you to migrate your workloads. For details about data migration, see Data Migration.
Table 1 lists the FlexusRDS kernel lifecycles that Huawei Cloud supports.
- Some time points in Table 1 are estimated and will be adjusted before the lifecycle ends or FlexusRDS ends its support.
- After the lifecycle of FlexusRDS ends, FlexusRDS will no longer be sold, and existing DB instances will no longer be maintained (such as installing patches) or scaled up.
- Make a plan for version upgrade or data migration in advance.
