Creating an ELB Monitoring Dashboard and Editing Monitoring Graphs on Cloud Eye

Application Scenarios

The ELB Monitoring Dashboard helps you quickly create resource graphs for your resources when you are not sure which metrics to configure.

You can use an ELB monitoring dashboard to monitor the overall usage of your service resources. If the default dashboard does not meet your needs, you can create a custom dashboard, add monitoring graphs, and view the monitoring data. You can also edit or delete the monitoring graphs on the custom dashboard. For example, you can compare monitoring data across multiple instances in the same dimension, analyze different monitoring data for a single instance, and view data thresholds and lines on the monitoring dashboard. This helps you quickly identify service exceptions, reduce O&M complexity, and enhance service continuity.

Constraints

Currently, you can create a maximum of 10 dashboards and custom dashboards in total. To request more, you can submit a service ticket. For details, see Quotas.

Procedure

Preparations

There is an ECS and the ECS is displayed in the server monitoring list on Cloud Eye. For details, see Purchasing an ECS and Server Monitoring.

Step 1: Create a Monitoring Dashboard

1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
2. In the left navigation pane, choose My Dashboards > Dashboards.
3. On the Dashboards page, click Create Dashboard in the upper right corner.
4. On the Create Dashboard page, select ELB Monitoring Dashboard.
5. Click OK.

   After the monitoring dashboard is created, it is displayed in monitoring dashboard list.

6. Locate the target dashboard and click Show in the Operation column to view the monitoring dashboard.

Step 2: Edit Monitoring Graphs

You can edit a graph if it cannot meet your needs.

1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.

2. In the left navigation pane, choose My Dashboards > Dashboards.
3. Locate the row that contains the ELB monitoring dashboard to be edited and click View in the Operation column. The ELB monitoring dashboard page is displayed.

4. Move the cursor to the target graph, click in the upper right corner of the graph, and click Edit.
5. On the Edit Graph page, modify parameters as required.
6. Click Save.

   The following uses the number of new connections and concurrent connections of a load balancer as an example to describe how to view a monitoring graph.
