Creating Data Lake Insight Data Connections

Before establishing a data connection to Data Lake Insight (DLI), ensure that the following condition is met:

  • You have created DLI databases and resource queues.

Creating a DLI Data Connection

  1. Log in to the DLV console.
  2. On the Data page, click the workspace drop-down list at the top of the page, select the workspace to be accessed, and click New Data Connection.

  3. In the New Data Connection dialog box, set Data Source Type to DLI and set the related parameters.

    Table 1 describes the DLI data connection parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Name of the data connection. Must contain 1 to 32 characters and contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_).

    Database

    You can select a database from the Database drop-down list.

    Resource Queue

    Select an available DLI resource queue. default is the preset DLI resource queue.

    Authorize Access

    When you create a DLI data connection for the first time, you will be reminded to authorize access to DLI. After the authorization, you will not be asked to do so when you create DLI data connections later.

  4. Click OK.

You can configure and use DLI data sources by referring to the instructions in Using DWS Data Sources.
