Deleting a Migration Task

Once the migration is complete, the target server runs properly, and incremental synchronization is no longer required, you can delete the migration task and its configurations to clean up your console.

Before deleting the task, you are advised to delete migration-related resources to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Deleting a server migration record only deletes the record registered with SMS. It does not delete the source or target server. To register the source server again, restart the SMS-Agent on the source server.

Deleting a Task

  1. Sign in to the SMS console.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Servers.
  3. Locate the migration record you want to delete, and choose More > Delete in the Operation column.

You can also select the record and choose More > Delete in the upper left corner of the server list.

  4. Read the precautions carefully in the Delete Server dialog box. After confirming the deletion, enter DELETE in the text box and click OK.

If the server record disappears from the server list, the deletion is successful. After the deletion is complete, go to the EVS console to check whether the temporary disk and synchronization snapshots generated during the migration are also deleted. If the temporary resources fail to be deleted, manually delete them.
