When you are purchasing an RDS instance, you need to specify the CPU and memory configurations based on service requirements. If the specifications are too high, expenses will be wasted. If the specifications are too low, services will be interrupted.

There are a wide range of DB instance classes available to meet your compute and storage requirements. For more information, see DB Instance Classes.

Solution

Scale up or down the CPU and memory of an RDS instance as required. For details, see Changing a DB Instance Class.

Rule Logic

• If the DB instance class is within the specified range, this instance is compliant.
• If the DB instance class it out of the specified range, this cluster is non-compliant.
