Changing the Billing Mode from Yearly/Monthly to Pay-per-Use

Scenarios

You can change the billing mode of a DB instance from yearly/monthly to pay-per-use.

You can change the billing mode from yearly/monthly to pay-per-use either immediately or upon expiration.

  • Immediately: Once the change order is complete, the remaining fees for the current subscription terms are refunded, and pay-per-use billing takes effect immediately.
  • Upon expiration: The pay-per-use billing mode takes effect only after the yearly/monthly subscription has expired.

Changing the Billing Mode from Yearly/Monthly to Pay-per-Use

  1. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
  2. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Databases > Relational Database Service.
  3. On the Instances page, locate the yearly/monthly DB instance and choose More > Change to Pay-per-use in the Operation column.

Alternatively, click the DB instance name to go to the Overview page. In the Billing area, click Change to Pay-per-use under Billing Mode.

  4. In the displayed dialog box, select Apply when the subscription expires or Apply immediately for When to Apply the Change, and click OK.
  5. Wait until the billing mode is successfully changed and view the instance on the Instances page.

In the upper right corner of the DB instance list, click to refresh the list. After the DB instance billing mode is changed to pay-per-use, the instance status will change to Available and the billing mode will change to Pay-per-use.
