Processing Bugs

After a bug is created, the current owner needs to handle the bug. The process includes the Analyzing, Fixing, Testing, Accepting, and Closed states.

Prerequisites

  • A project has been created.
  • A bug has been created.

Analyzing Bugs

  1. In the bug list, click the title of a bug in the Analyzing state. The Analyzing details page is displayed.

    When processing a bug, you can comment on the bug, associate the bug with work items, add attachments and workload, and view historical records. For details, see Editing Bug Details.

  2. After the analysis is complete, click Submit to R&D in the upper right corner of the page. The Submit to R&D window is displayed.

    • Click Return to and enter the current owner and reason. The bug status directly switches to OK.
      • Click Resubmit, the bug state changes to Analyzing.
      • Click Close and select Closure Type. The bug state changes to Closed.
    • Click Fixing not required. After you enter the current owner and reason, the bug state changes to Testing.

    Fill in the current owner and the cause based on the actual project.

  3. Click OK. The bug enters the Fixing state, and a message is displayed in the upper right corner of the homepage, indicating that the transition is successful.

Fixing Bugs

  1. Click the title of a bug in the Fixing state. The Fixing details page is displayed.

    When processing a bug, you can comment on the bug, associate the bug with work items, add attachments and workload, and view historical records. For details, see Editing Bug Details.

  2. After the fix is complete, click Submit to test in the upper right corner of the page. The Submit to test dialog box is displayed.

    • Click Return to analysis. After you enter the current owner and reason, the bug state changes to Analyzing.
    • To suspend the bug, click Suspend and enter Suspension Reason. Click OK.

    Fill in the current owner and solution based on the actual project.

  3. Click OK. The bug enters the Testing state, and a message is displayed in the upper right corner of the homepage, indicating that the transition is successful.

Testing Bugs

  1. Click the title of a bug in the Testing state. The Testing details page is displayed.

    When processing a bug, you can comment on the bug, associate the bug with work items, add attachments and workload, and view historical records. For details, see Editing Bug Details.

  2. After the test is complete, click Passed in the upper right corner of the page. The Passed window is displayed.

    • To return the bug, click Return to fixing. After you enter the reason and current owner, the bug state changes to Fixing.
    • To suspend the bug, click Suspend and enter Suspension Reason. Click OK.

    Fill in the current owner and the test report based on the actual project.

  3. Click OK. The bug state changes to Accepting.

Accepting Bugs

  1. Click the title of a bug in the Accepting state. The Accepting details page will display.

    When processing a bug, you can comment on the bug, associate the bug with work items, add attachments and workload, and view historical records. For details, see Editing Bug Details.

  2. After the acceptance is complete, click Accepted in the upper right corner of the page. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

    Click Return to analysis. After you enter the current owner and reason, the bug state changes to Analyzing.

  3. Click OK.
  4. Set Closure Type.
  5. Click OK. The bug state changes to Closed.

    A closed bug can be activated. After a bug being activated, its state will change to Analyzing.
