ALM-50604 LDMS Failed to Submit a Task

This section applies only to MRS 3.6.0 or later.

Alarm Description

LDMS submits and schedules Spark tasks to Yarn based on the configured grouped job queue. This alarm is generated when the tasks fail to be submitted for three consecutive times. This alarm is cleared when the grouped job queue is successfully submitted.

Memory Usage Exceeds The Threshold

Specifies the tenant name of the compute instance for which the alarm was generated and how much the threshold is exceeded.

Impact on the System

If LDMS fails to schedule and submit jobs, the reliability of the hosted table is affected. If the failure lasts for a long time, the read and write performance of the hosted tables will be affected and the tables may be unavailable.

Possible Causes

The service on which LDMS depends is faulty, or resources are insufficient for scheduling too many jobs on the background.

Handling Procedure

  1. Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Alarm > Alarms, click Failed to submit the task, and check the Location information. Check the host information of the node where the instance for which the alarm is generated is located.
  1. On FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Services > LDMS > Instances.
  2. Click the instance role for which the alarm is generated and choose Dashboard > Log > LDMSServer.
  3. Download the LDMSServer log and check the error cause.
  1. Contact O&M engineers and provide the collected logs.

Alarm Clearance

This alarm is automatically cleared after the fault is rectified.
