Adding a Graph

If you are using multiple cloud services, you can add their metrics to the same custom dashboard by creating graphs. This way, you can view global monitoring data of these cloud services.

In the same graph, you can compare data across services, dimensions, and metrics.

Constraints

  • You can add a maximum of 50 graphs to a dashboard.
  • You can add a maximum of 50 monitoring metrics to a graph.
  • Monitoring Scope can be set to Resource groups for a graph in the following regions: CN North-Beijing4, CN East-Shanghai1, CN South-Guangzhou, and CN Southwest-Guiyang1.
  • Monitoring Scope cannot set to Resource groups for the following cloud services: ModelArts Studio, Global Connection Bandwidth, Octopus: Autonomous Driving Cloud, and Dedicated Computing Cluster.

Prerequisites

You have created a custom dashboard by referring to Creating a Custom Dashboard.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. Choose My Dashboards > Custom Dashboards and click the name of the dashboard to which you want to add a graph. On the displayed page, click Create > Create Graph or Create Graph Group.

You can create a graph or a graph group. In this example, click Create Graph. The Create Graph dialog box is displayed.

  2. On the Create Graph page, perform the following operations:
    1. Set Graph Type to Line chart, Stacked area line chart, Bar chart, Horizontal bar chart, Donut chart, Gauge chart, Number, or Table chart.
    2. On the Graph Settings area on the right, select One graph for a single metric or One graph for multiple metrics (only for line charts, area charts, or table charts). In this example, select One graph for multiple metrics. Under Graph Group, select an existing group or click Create Graph Group to create one.
    3. Earlier edition: In the Monitoring Item Configuration area, set the monitoring scope, choose how to compare metrics (Same period last week or Same period yesterday), and set Quantity.

Earlier edition: For Bar chart, Horizontal bar chart, Table chart, and Donut chart, set Quantity to an integer from 3 to 10. For Line chart and Stacked area line chart, set Quantity to an integer from 1 to 200.

New edition: In the Select Metric area, set the metric, monitoring scope (All resources, Resource groups, or Specific resources), and whether to enable Aggregation and configure aggregation rules. Select same period last week or same period yesterday for Compare With, and set the number of records to be displayed in a graph for the metric.
      • For Line chart, Stacked area line chart, Bar chart, Horizontal bar chart, Donut chart, and Table chart, you can set Display to an integer from 1 to 50. For Gauge chart and Number, set Display to an integer from 1 to 3.
      • For Line chart and Stacked area line chart, you can determine whether to enable Aggregation. For Bar chart, Horizontal bar chart, Table chart, Donut chart, Gauge chart, and Number, Aggregation is enabled by default.
      • If Monitoring Scope is set to Specific resources, after you select specific resources, their data is displayed. You can set Legend for each resource.
      • When Monitoring Scope is set to Resource groups, only the monitoring data generated after the creation of the resource group will be collected.
      • On the Graph Settings page, if you select One graph for multiple metrics, set Graph Type to Table chart, and set Monitoring Scope to Resource groups, only the monitoring data generated after the resource group is created will be collected. For other metrics, the monitoring data from all periods will be collected.
      • If Monitoring Scope is set to Resource groups, monitoring data from all periods will be collected when you compare date with the same period last week or yesterday.

For details about the metrics of each cloud service, see Cloud Product Metrics.

    4. In the upper right corner of the Select Metric area, select Left Y axis or Right Y axis. View the configured chart in the Preview area.

    5. In the Graph Settings area, set Remarks (Optional). Select an option from Location and an option from Legend Value. Set Threshold and select a color.
  3. Click Finish.
