Deleting a Custom Metric or Event Template

You can delete a custom metric or event template that is no longer used. If the template has been associated with an alarm rule, you can choose whether to delete the alarm rule. Deleted data cannot be restored.

Constraints

Custom metric or event templates associated with alarm rules cannot be deleted in batches.

Deleting a Custom Metric Template

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > Alarm Templates.
  2. Click the Custom Metrics Templates tab and delete desired templates.
    • Deleting a single template: Locate the metric template to be deleted, and choose More > Delete in the Operation column.
    • Deleting templates in batches: Select multiple metric templates to be deleted and click Delete above the list.
  3. In the Delete Custom Metric Template dialog box, click OK.

Deleting Custom Event Templates

  1. Log in to the Cloud Eye console.
  1. In the navigation pane, choose Alarm Management > Alarm Templates.
  2. Click the Custom Event Templates tab.
    • Deleting a single template: Locate the event template to be deleted, and choose More > Delete in the Operation column.
    • Deleting templates in batches: Select multiple event templates to be deleted and click Delete above the list.
  3. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.

    When deleting a custom template associated with alarm rules, you need to select a deletion mode. By default, Template only is selected.

    • Template only: deletes only the selected template and retains the associated alarm rules. After the template is deleted, Method of these alarm rules changes to Configure manually, but their alarm policies remain unchanged.
    • Template and associated alarm rules: deletes the selected template and all associated alarm rules.
