Event Management Overview
Events record significant state changes and operational traces throughout a container instance's lifecycle, such as successful scheduling, image pull failures, and probe timeouts. They are the primary resource for troubleshooting container issues and identifying root causes.
- Data volatility: Due to Kubernetes' native design, real-time events displayed on the CCI console are ephemeral and retained for one hour by default. After this period, the system automatically purges the data.
- Best practices (event reporting): For production environments, enable event reporting. The system automatically forwards events to Log Tank Service (LTS) for long-term retention, supporting historical fault analysis and compliance auditing.
- Billing: Viewing real-time events (≤ 1 hour) on the CCI console is free. If event reporting to LTS is enabled, you will be billed by LTS based on actual storage and indexing usage.
