RES01-02 Multi-Location Deployment of Application Components
Application components must be deployed in multiple data centers to prevent service interruptions caused by the fault of a single data center.
- Risk level
High
- Key strategies
Application data and resources can be deployed in multiple locations based on different requirements.
- Multi-AZ deployment: Applications should be deployed in multiple AZs to prevent service interruptions caused by the fault of a single AZ.
- Multi-region deployment: For application systems with high availability requirements, multi-region deployment is required to prevent service interruptions caused by the fault of a single region.
- Multi-AZ deployment is preferred. Most workloads can achieve their availability objectives through multi-AZ deployment in a single region. Multi-region deployment is considered only when workloads have extremely high availability requirements or other service objectives.
