Can SMS Migrate Self-built Databases, Big Data Services, or Websites Deployed on a Source Server?
SMS lifts and shifts entire servers. You are not advised to use SMS to migrate databases, big data clusters, or container clusters.
If you still want to use SMS in the above scenarios, the required migration time cannot be estimated. After the migration is complete, you need to pause these services but do not stop the source servers and the Agent before performing the final service cutover. Otherwise, the target servers may take a long time to launch, data will be inconsistent between the source and target servers, or the services may not be started on the target servers.
