What Are the Differences Between Synchronous Replication and Asynchronous Replication?

Asynchronous replication:

The DR solution is based on the host layer asynchronous data replication. The RPO is within seconds. Asynchronous replication supports the following DR scenarios: cross-region DR, cross-AZ DR, HCS Online DR to Huawei Cloud.

Synchronous replication:

The DR solution is based on the storage layer synchronous data replication. Synchronous replication supports only cross-AZ DR and has high requirements on the network. The sale of synchronous replication is discontinued. For details, Discontinuation Notice.
