Modifying Connection Information

During the migration, you may change the password of the source or destination database. As a result, the data migration, data comparison, task pause, resume, resetting, and stopping may fail. In this case, you need to change the password on the DRS console and resume the task.

You can modify the following information:

  • Database password
  • Database IP address
  • Database port
  • Database username
  • DNS server

Constraints

  • You can change the IP address, port, and username during the incremental migration phase only for a DRS task with MySQL serving as the source and IP address entered for the connection test. If the IP address, port number, or username changes due to some operations on the source database, you can use this function to update the information.
  • The function of changing an IP address applies to the scenario where the IP address of the source database changes. The IP addresses before and after the change must belong to the same data instance. Otherwise, the task may fail or data may be inconsistent.
  • After the connection information is changed, the change takes effect immediately, and the data in the destination database is not cleared.

Procedure

  1. On the Online Migration Management page, click the target migration task name in the Task Name/ID column.
  2. On the Basic Information tab, click Modify Connection Details in the Migration Information area.
  3. In the displayed dialog box, change the database information such as passwords of the source and destination databases and click OK.
