After installing an ICAgent and configuring service discovery rules, implement common practices when necessary.

Practice	Description
Threshold Alarms (New)	Alarm is a basic function of AOM and plays an important role in routine O&M. AOM can interconnect with dozens of VM and component metrics, and notify customers of system problems by SMS or email.
Discovering Applications	AOM can discover applications and collect their metrics based on configured rules. You can view the discovered applications on the Application Monitoring page and their metrics on the O&M page.
Counting Log Keywords	When an application is normal, its log file contains fewer than 10 errors every 10 minutes. However, when the application becomes abnormal, the number of errors increases rapidly. To identify an exception in a timely manner, count the number of errors in logs and set threshold rules.
