Renewal Overview

Description

After packages expire, the billing mode of vCPUs and memory automatically changes to pay-per-use. If you want to continue using the resources, you need to renew the packages within the specified period. If the packages are not renewed, the vCPUs and memory will be billed on a pay-per-use basis.

Only packages can be renewed. If you use resources on a pay-per-use basis, ensure that your account has a valid payment method configured or you have a top-up account with sufficient balance.

If packages are renewed before they expire, all billing modes will be retained. For details about the statuses of packages after they expire, see Figure 1.

A package can expire or run out. If a package expires but the resource is not used up within the validity period, the package becomes invalid. If a package does not expire but the resource is used up, the package is used up.

Description

Manual Renewal

vCPUs and memory

You can renew a package at any time in Billing Center to extend its validity period.

Auto Renewal

vCPUs and memory

If auto-renewal is enabled, packages are automatically renewed before they expire.

You can select a method to renew a package based on the phase the pod is currently in.

Figure 1 Pod lifecycle

  • A package may become invalid after it expires or after it is used up.
  • You can enable auto-renewal at any time before it expires. By default, the system will make the first attempt to charge your account for the renewal at 03:00, seven days before the expiry date. If this attempt fails, it will make another attempt at 03:00 every day until the subscription is renewed or expires. You can manually renew the package before it is deleted.
  • If you do not renew the package after it expires, the billing mode will be changed from packages to pay-per-use billing. If your account is in arrears due to automatic deduction for pay-per-use resources, the account enters the grace period. If the package is not renewed after the grace period expires, the resource status changes to Frozen.
  • If the package is not renewed before the retention period expires, the package will be deleted.
