Why Am I Billed on a Pay-per-Use Basis After I Purchased an SMS Package?

The possible causes are as follows:

  • Before a package takes effect, the outstanding balance and pay-per-use fees generated under the account cannot be offset by the package quota.
  • The package does not take effect in time. Log in to the Message & SMS console, choose Billing > My Packages > Resource Packages and check whether the package has taken effect. If you renew a purchased SMS package, the effective time of the renewed SMS package will be postponed to the time when the previous package expires.
  • If the package quota has been used up, the usage exceeding the quota will be charged on a pay-per-use basis.
  • Currently, only SMS packages for sending SMSs to the following countries are available: Indonesia, Thailand, India, and Philippines. SMSs sent to countries that are not included in the package are charged on a pay-per-use basis.
  • Check whether your SMS package belongs to Message & SMS.
