Upper threshold of the temperature. |
BaseThresholdLowWarning |
Major upper threshold of the temperature. |
Impact on the System
When the temperature exceeds the upper threshold, the switch may not work properly and packet loss may occur. Or more seriously, the system may not respond or reset abnormally.
Possible Causes
- The chassis is not ventilated well, which causes heat unable to be dissipated.
- The ambient temperature is high.
- There are not enough fans in the switch.
- One or more fans in the switch have failed.
- The upper threshold of the temperature is too low.
Procedure
- Clean the air vents and check whether the alarm is cleared.
(1) If so, go to step 13.
(2) If not, go to step 2.
- Check whether the ambient temperature is high.
(1) If so, go to step 3.
(2) If not, go to step 4.
- Lower the temperature in the equipment room, and then go to step 4.
- Check whether all the fans are present and working normally.
(1) If so, go to step 6.
(2) If not, go to step 5.
- Install more fans in the switch, and then go to step 6.
- Run the display fan command to check the status of fans and determine whether any fan is faulty.
(1) If so, go to step 7.
(2) If not, go to step 8.
- Replace the faulty fan, and then go to step 8.
- After the switch has been running for a period of time, run the display temperature all command to check whether temperature of the switch is still high.
(1) If so, go to step 9.
(2) If not, go to step 13.
- Check whether the upper threshold of the temperature is too low.
(1) If so, go to step 10.
(2) If not, go to step 12.
- Run the temperature threshold slot slotid lower-limit lower upper-limit upper command to set a higher upper threshold of the temperature.
- After the switch has been running for a period of time, run the display temperature all command to check whether temperature of the switch is still high.
(1) If so, go to step 12.
(2) If not, go to step 13.
- Contact technical support personnel.
- End.
