What Can I Do If the One-Click Installation Command Fails to Install the SMS Agent on a Windows Server?

Symptom

When you ran the one-click installation command to install the SMS Agent on Windows, the error message "" was displayed.

Possible Causes

The SMS Agent is installed securely over HTTPS. However, the installation will fail if the SSL/TLS connection cannot be established. This connection failure is usually caused by outdated OS versions (such as Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2), outdated TLS versions (earlier than 1.2), or network constraints imposed by proxy or firewall settings.

Solution

Replace HTTPS with HTTP in the one-click installation command and run the command again on the source server.

Downgrading from HTTPS to HTTP removes encryption, identity verification, and integrity protection. Perform this operation only if your network environment is secure.
