How Do I Assess Server Migration Risks?
This section describes the check items and their required information for server migration risk assessment.
| Check Item | Required Field | Check Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| ECS compatibility | OS image and type | Check the OS version compatibility with ECS to determine whether the server can be migrated to the cloud. |
| SMS compatibility | OS image, OS type, and firmware type | Check the OS version compatibility with SMS to determine whether the server can be migrated to the cloud. |
| Firmware type check | Firmware type | If the firmware type is UEFI, you need to prepare a UEFI image in advance. |
| Ultra-large Specifications | Number of CPUs | Determine whether the specifications are supported for cloud migration. |
| Special hardware | Hardware resource list | Check whether special hardware is used. |
| Scheduled tasks | Scheduled task list | Identify scheduled tasks on the server and assess migration risks in advance to prevent problems such as data inconsistency caused by scheduled task execution during the migration. |
| File share clients | Partition information | Check the partition information for shared storage, file share (CIFS/NFS/SMB) clients, and NAS clients. |
| Disk quantity | Disk information | The number of disks on a single VM cannot exceed 20. |
| Disk size | Disk information | The data disk size cannot exceed 24 TB, and the system disk size cannot exceed 1 TB. |
| Available partition space | Partition information and OS type |
|
| Partition file systems | Partition information and OS type |
