How Do I Replace the WIM File of an ISO Image with a Custom WIM File So I Can Create a Windows System Disk Image?

Scenarios

Windows Imaging Format (WIM) is a file-based system image format developed by Microsoft. It's widely used for Windows deployment and maintenance. This section describes how to use AnyBurn to convert a custom WIM image file into an ISO image file that can be imported to Huawei Cloud.

Prerequisites

  1. A custom WIM image file is available.
  2. A Windows ISO image of the same OS version as the custom WIM image file is available.

Procedure

  1. Download AnyBurn and install it on your local PC.
  2. Replace the install.wim file in the Windows ISO image.
    1. Open AnyBurn and select Edit Image File.

    2. Select the ISO image and click Next.
    3. Select the sources folder. Then, find the install.wim file and delete it.
    4. Click Add. Select the custom WIM file and click Add.
    5. Click Next. Change the image file name and click Create Now.
    6. Wait until the new ISO image file is generated.
  3. Use the new ISO image file to create a Windows system disk image.
