Parameter Explanation

  • VPC

    A VPC is an isolated and private virtual network environment that users apply for on Huawei Cloud. A VPC allows you to manage and configure internal networks, and make secure and fast network changes.

    To access Redis in an ECS, select the VPC where the ECS is.

  • Subnet

    A subnet is an IP address segment in a VPC. You can create subnets to manage resources by group based on security and operation requirements.

FAQs

Does DCS Support Cross-VPC Access?

Cross-VPC means the client and the instance are not in the same VPC. Generally, VPCs are isolated from each other and ECSs cannot access DCS instances that belong to a different VPC from these ECSs.

You can establish VPC peering connections to allow the ECS to access the DCS instance across VPCs. For details, see Does DCS Support Cross-VPC Access?

Can I Change the VPC and Subnet After a DCS Instance Is Created?

Once an instance is created, its VPC and subnet cannot be changed. If you want to use a different set of VPC and subnet, create an instance and specify a desired set of VPC and subnet. After the new instance is created, you can migrate data from the old instance to the new instance by following the Migration Solution Notes.
