Hybrid Deployment of Online and Offline Services

In a hybrid deployment, multiple applications are deployed in the same cluster. Features of these applications are predicted and analyzed, so that resources in the cluster can be maximized.

Multiple applications are deployed in the same cluster. Through prediction and analysis of application features, resources in the cluster can be maximized. Hybrid deployment also means that multiple containers are deployed on the same node. The services running in the containers include both online and offline services. Online services and offline services are differentiated based on application resource requirements as follows: Online services are sensitive to latency and resource quality. They have specific requirements for metrics such as QPS and response time (RT). Offline services are typically compute-intensive tasks and are not sensitive to resource quality. They have enhanced capabilities such as fault tolerance and retries.
