Can I Change the Flavor of a CDM Cluster?

Yes.

If your cluster does not meet your service requirements, you can change the flavor of the cluster to add more resources (such as CPUs and memory) and improve performance. The flavor change depends on the basic capabilities of the Elastic Cloud Server (ECS).

Before and during the change, the cluster must be stopped. You should plan an appropriate time for the change to avoid impact on your services.

  • Before changing the flavor, check and ensure that there are sufficient ECS resources and CPU quotas in the current region. To check it, choose Resources > My Quotas.
  • The flavor change is supported only for clusters using images of version 2.9.3.300 or later. To change the flavor of a cluster using an earlier version, contact O&M personnel.
  • Currently, only scale-out is supported. Scale-in is not supported.
  • During the flavor change, the system automatically stops and restarts ECSs, and the cluster is unavailable for about 20 to 30 minutes. Ensure that there is sufficient time for the change to complete.
  • After the scale-out is complete, the cluster will be billed based on the new flavor.
  • A package is associated with a cluster flavor. After the flavor is changed, the package associated with the new flavor will be used.

The operations are as follows:

  1. In the cluster list, locate the target cluster, click More in the Operation column, and select Change Flavor.

  2. Select the target flavor.

  3. Confirm the new flavor and price, and click Submit.

Wait until the flavor change is complete. During the change, the service is unavailable.
