Applying for SIS
Enabling SIS
You can enable SIS as follows:
- Log in to the SIS console.
- On the Service Overview section on the Overview page, find the service you need, click Enablement Management, and enable it. It uses a pay-per-use billing mode by default. No charges will apply until you begin using the service.
Figure 1 Enabling a service
You have successfully enabled the service when Enabled is displayed.
- Then, you can continue with subsequent operations according to the official documents.

- For users who have never used SIS (new users), they must first enable the service on the SIS console before use. The default billing mode is pay-per-use, meaning no fees are incurred until the service is called. Accounts with overdue payments will be restricted from making API calls, and the service remains inaccessible until enabled.
- SIS has been available for some time. Prior to supporting enablement management, certain users (legacy users) had already accessed SIS APIs. To maintain user experience continuity, all users under such legacy accounts were automatically granted access to SIS (limited to projects where SIS APIs were previously utilized). If you want to use this enablement management function, contact Huawei Cloud customer service. Processing typically requires approximately one business day, requiring submission of your account ID, project ID, and the user IDs of individuals requiring access. Once enabled, you can manage service enablement for individual IAM users, enabling or disabling their access as needed. IAM users without service access will be unable to call the relevant sub-service APIs.
- Legacy users can also enable SIS enablement management by creating new projects. For details about how to switch between projects, see Switching Projects.
- SIS enablement is project-specific. For example, if SIS is enabled for project A but not for project B, the service will remain unavailable in project B.
- Post-July 2024, users who have not called any SIS APIs fall into the category of new users. If you encounter the "not subscribe this service" error, enable the required service through a main account.
- With the introduction of enablement management, users cannot use a project ID associated with region A to call SIS services in region B. For cross-region calling needs, enable the SIS service under the project ID corresponding to the target region and use that project ID to call SIS APIs.
Disabling SIS
If you no longer need SIS after enablement, you can disable it through the console (currently supported only in the AP-Singapore region).
If you are the owner of a main account, you can enable or disable SIS for IAM users under your account.
