Creating Metadata Files

If no metadata files exist locally or in OBS, you can manually create one.

The maximum number of metadata files allowed is 50. Once this limit is reached, further creation will be restricted.

Manually Creating a Metadata File

  1. In the upper right corner of the Metadata Management page, click Create Metadata File.
  2. Configure the parameters below.
    • Name: Enter the metadata file name. The default file format is XML.
    • Storage Path: Select an OBS path for storing the metadata file. If you create metadata for the first time, you need to enable OBS. (You are advised to obtain user authorization and automatically create OBS buckets for the metadata.)
    • Definition: Metadata models can be built manually or in a visualized manner.
Manual: Click Add Label. Define the label name and label type. Click Add under the label name to add a property. You can also click Up or Down to sort properties. #ges_01_0113/table15846105618206 lists the property parameters. For details about other metadata information, see Graph Data Formats.
      1. Multiple labels are allowed. Click Add label to add labels as needed.
      2. There are three types of labels: vertex, edge, and general-purpose (both vertex and edge).

Creating a Metadata File in a Visualized Manner

  1. Adding a vertex label:

Left-click and drag a small circle onto the canvas. Once placed, click the vertex to define its name, description, and properties.

  2. Adding an edge label:
  3. Click a connection point of one vertex and drag it to another vertex's connection point to create an edge. You can then specify the edge's name, description, source vertex, target vertex, and properties. The property configuration parameters are as shown in Figure 2.

  4. Click OK. The created metadata file will be displayed on the Metadata Management page.
