Configuring Networks for DataArts Fabric SQL Data Sources

Overview

To ensure secure and stable communications between DataArts Migration and DataArts Fabric SQL, you need to use VPCEP and configure LakeFormation for metadata management. This process involves creating access clients, configuring VPCEP, and configure domain name resolution.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a VPC and subnet where DataArts Migration is located.
  • DataArts Fabric and LakeFormation have been enabled.
  • You have sufficient quotas for VPCEP, DNS, and VPC.

Creating Fabric and LakeFormation Access Clients

  1. Create a Fabric access client..

    1. Log in to the DataArts Fabric SQL console.
    2. Access the Access Management page and click Create Client.
    3. Configure the VPC and subnet where DataArts Migration is located.

  2. Create a LakeFormation data connection for metadata management..

    1. Log in to the LakeFormation console.
    2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Access Management. Click Create Client.
    3. Configure the VPC and subnet where DataArts Migration is located.

  3. Check or configure domain name resolution (DNS/VPCEP).

When you create clients for accessing Fabric and LakeFormation, a private DNS and a VPCEP endpoint are created for you by default. However, if your quotas are insufficient, the DNS and VPCEP cannot be automatically created.

If the DNS or VPCEP quota is insufficient, delete the corresponding Fabric or LakeFormation client, increase the quota, and create a Fabric or LakeFormation client again.
