Notification Settings
Scenarios
Simple Message Notification (SMN) is a reliable and flexible large-scale message notification service. It enables you to efficiently send messages to email addresses, phone numbers, and HTTP/HTTPS servers and connect cloud services through notifications, reducing system complexity.
CBR uses SMN for message notifications. You can enable or disable notification as needed. After enabled, you can learn the following information:
- Vault capacity condition
- Whether vaults are applied with enabled policies or associated with resources
- Whether backup tasks succeed
- Auto resource association condition
- Whether there are frozen vaults
If you do not need the preceding information, disable notification. If you need notification of one specific item, configure alarm reporting according to Creating an Alarm Rule.
There is a delay in sending emails or SMS messages. You will receive the notification the next day after an issue was detected. If you have dealt with the issue and ensure that the exception no longer exists, ignore the email and SMS message.
The CBR notification settings will soon be brought offline. It is recommended that you go to the Cloud Eye console to complete SMS and email notification settings. For details, see Creating an Alarm Rule.

- Enable: If exception notification is enabled, you must also set a threshold for the vault capacity. If the vault usage reaches this threshold, CBR sends a message to your mobile number and email set in Account Center to notify you of this condition. In addition to vault capacity, other conditions will also generate notifications. If you have received such a message, you can deal with it by referring to the information provided in the Notification Settings area on the Dashboard page.
- Disable: CBR does not send messages to your mobile number and email. Figure 1 Notification Settings
