Deleting Domain Names

After a domain name is connected to AAD, its traffic will be protected. Protection remains active even if the domain name is discarded, leading to unnecessary resource consumption.

To avoid unnecessary costs, delete any inactive domains from the Domain Name Access page.

Before deleting a domain name, ensure the DNS domain name provider has changed the CNAME record to point directly to the origin IP address, bypassing AAD.

Otherwise, deleting the domain name will cause service interruption or unavailability.

Deleting Domain Names

  1. Log in to the AAD console.
  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Advanced Anti-DDoS > Domain Name Access. The Domain Name Access page is displayed.
  3. Select a deletion mode.

    • Deleting a single domain name: In the Operation column of the row containing the domain name to be deleted, click Delete.
    • Deleting domain names in batches: Select the domain names to be deleted and click Batch Delete.

  4. In the displayed dialog box, select a verification mode.
  5. After the verification is successful, click OK.
