Managing Forwarding Rules

Origin servers are connected to AAD via forwarding rules. These rules must be regularly maintained to align with service updates and security policy adjustments.

In AAD, you can export all forwarding rules for offline analysis and modify origin server information, efficiently managing connections.

This section describes how to view details about a forwarding rule, change the origin server IP address, and export and delete a forwarding rule.

Before deleting a forwarding rule, ensure it is not in use, or the deletion may interrupt services.

Checking a Forwarding Rule

  1. Log in to the AAD console.
  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Advanced Anti-DDoS > Forwarding Configuration. The Forwarding Configuration page is displayed.
  3. Check forwarding rules.

    Parameter

    Description

    Forwarding Protocol/Port

    The forwarding protocol and port of the forwarding rule.

    Status

    The status of the forwarding rule.

    Source Protocol/Port

    The origin server protocol and port added to the forwarding rule.

    LVS Forwarding Rules

    Linux Virtual Server (LVS) forwarding rules. The default value is round robin and cannot be changed.

    Origin Server IP Address/Domain Name

    The origin server IP address or domain name added to the forwarding rule.

    Operation
    • To edit the forwarding rule, click Edit.
    • To delete the forwarding rule, click Delete.

Modifying the Origin Server IP Address

  1. Log in to the AAD console.
  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Advanced Anti-DDoS > Forwarding Configuration.
  3. Locate the row containing the target forwarding rule and click Modify.

  4. In the displayed Modify Origin Server IP Address dialog box, change the IP address of the origin server for the forwarding rule.

    Enter a valid public IP address.

  5. Click OK.

Export Forwarding Rules

  1. Click Export to export all forwarding rules to the local computer.
  2. View the exported forwarding rule file rules.txt.

Delete a Forwarding Rule

If a forwarding rule is no longer needed, you can delete it.

  1. In the Operation column of the row containing the desired forwarding rule, click Delete.
  2. In the displayed dialog box, select a verification mode.
  3. After the verification is successful, click OK.
