Obtaining the Backup Size

Before installing SAP HANA, make sure that the available space in /hana/backup on SAP HANA nodes is at least three times the SAP HANA memory capacity.

Obtain the backup size before backing up data. The size is displayed on the wizard page for creating a backup task, as shown in Figure 1. Ensure that the available space in /hana/backup meets the backup size requirement.
