Upgrading the MgC Agent for Windows

If Upgrade available is displayed in the Installed Version column of your MgC Agent, your MgC Agent is outdated. Upgrade to the latest version to ensure full feature availability.

When you upgrade the MgC Agent for Windows, the files and data in the directories below will be retained.

Table 1 Directories retained during the Windows upgrade

Stores sensitive data table files.

Stores configuration files.

C:\MgC-Agent\data

Stores data table files.

Stores log files.

C:\MgC-Agent\tools\SCCConf

Stores SCC encryption files.

C:\MgC-Agent\tools\plugins\collectors\python\windows\mgc-app-discovery-collectors-windows\app-discovery-process-netstat\logs

Stores the logs and output files of the Linux process collector plug-in.

C:\MgC-Agent\tools\plugins\collectors\python\windows\mgc-app-discovery-collectors-windows\app-discovery-process-netstat\output

C:\MgC-Agent\tools\plugins\collectors\python\windows\mgc-app-discovery-collectors-windows\app-discovery-process-netstat-win\logs

Stores the logs and output files of the Windows process collector plug-in.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the MgC console from the Windows server where the MgC Agent of an earlier version was installed.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose MgC Agent.
  3. In the Windows area, click Download Installation Package to download the newest version of MgC Agent to the Windows server you prepared.
  4. Double-click the downloaded MgC Agent installation package to start the installation and overwrite the earlier version. After the installation is complete, go to the MgC console and check that the version is the latest in the device list.
