What Can I Do If the Target Server Lacks Secure Boot and TPM After Windows 11 Migration?

Symptom

After the source server running Windows 11 is migrated to a Huawei Cloud ECS instance, the target server does not support TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.

Possible Causes

The common causes and solutions are as follows.

• The target server supports these functions but SMS does not. In this case, manually enable these functions in the ECS information area on the details page of the target ECS after the migration is complete.

  

• The target server does not support these functions, but services on the target server depend on these functions. In this case, submit a service ticket. The support personnel will create an image using the target ECS to convert the target ECS to a flavor that supports TPM 2.0. The procedure is as follows:
  1. Create a custom image from the system disk of the target ECS.
  2. Modify the configuration of the custom image to ensure that it supports TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.
  3. Create an ECS using the modified custom image.
  4. Enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on the newly created ECS.
