Can I Use SecMaster Across Regions?
SecMaster resources, value-added packages, and quotas cannot be shared or used across regions. SecMaster is deployed at the region level. However, SecMaster provides multi-account management and workspace hosting functions for you to aggregate data from different workspaces across accounts and regions. This enables centralized management and operations.
Differences Between Cross-Region Use and Cross-Region Management
- Cross-region use
Cross-region use means you can share resources or quotas across regions. SecMaster is essentially a region-level service, so its resources or quotas cannot be shared across regions.
- Cross-region management
Cross-region management allows you to aggregate data from workspaces in different regions into the primary workspace for centralized checks and operations. This process involves data aggregation only, not resource or quota sharing.
- Multi-account management: Before using this function, you need to create an organization, invite accounts to join the organization, and grant them permissions by organization. Note that only the organization administrator or the delegated administrator has permissions for multi-account management. You use the primary workspace of an operations account to manage data across multiple accounts. Service account data can only be ingested into this workspace. For more information, see Multi-Account Management.
- Workspace agency: You can create a workspace agency to manage workspaces from other accounts and regions. This means you can aggregate security data across accounts and regions to enable centralized security operations. An agency can be created by the current tenant or organization. For more information, see Workspace Agency Overview.
