Configuring Direct Reading for a Bucket (SDK for C)

If you have any questions during development, post them on the Issues page of GitHub.

Function

The direct reading function means that you can directly perform operations on Archive objects without restoring them.

By default, direct reading is disabled for a bucket.

This API is used to enable or disable direct reading for a bucket.

  • When direct reading is enabled for a bucket:
    • You can directly perform operations on objects in the bucket regardless of whether they have been restored.
    • If objects are not restored, your operations on them will be charged separately.
  • When direct reading is disabled for a bucket:
    • You need to restore objects in the bucket before you can operate them.

Restrictions

Method

void set_bucket_direct_cold_access(const obs_options *options, const char *direct_cold_access_status,
           obs_response_handler *handler, void *callback_data);

Request Parameters

Table 1 List of request parameters

Parameter

Type

Mandatory (Yes/No)

Description

options

const obs_options*

Yes

Explanation:

Context of the requested bucket. You can set the AK, SK, endpoint, bucket, timeout interval, and temporary credentials through obs_options.

Restrictions:

None

Value range:

None

Default value:

None

direct_cold_access_status

const char *

Yes

Explanation:

Status of the direct reading policy.

Restrictions:

None

Value range:

  • Enabled: The direct reading policy is enabled.
  • Disabled: The direct reading policy is disabled.

Default value:

None

handler

obs_response_handler *

Yes

Explanation:

A callback structure where all members are pointers to callback functions, used to set the callback functions that handle response data. You can set a callback function to copy the response data from the server to callback_data (custom callback data).

None

Value range:

None

Default value:

None

callback_data

void *

No

Explanation:

Custom callback data.

Sample Code

This example configures direct reading for a bucket.
