Why Is EventGrid (EG) Not Recommended for Secret Event Notifications?

Due to service lifecycle adjustments, EG is now in maintenance mode. It will no longer receive new features, be deployed in new regions, or be made available to new customers. Therefore, you are not advised to use EG for secret event notifications.

To ensure reliable operations, configure your secret event notifications using Simple Message Notification (SMN). While existing EG configurations remain active, all upcoming secret event types will be supported exclusively via SMN.
