What Do I Do If the .exe Installer Crashes After Being Double-Clicked in Windows?

Symptom

When you double-click the IDE's .exe installer, Microsoft Store briefly flashes, but the installation wizard never appears.

Cause Analysis

Windows is configured to allow apps to be installed only from Microsoft Store.

Solution

1. Click the Windows start icon and choose Settings.
2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Apps > Advanced app settings.
3. On the Advanced app settings page, set Choose where to get apps to Anywhere.
4. After that, double-click the IDE's .exe installer again to install it.
