Why Aren't My Backups Deleted Based on the Retention Rule?

The policy was enabled and then disabled. In this case, if the retention type is time-based, the retention rule still takes effect, and backups will be deleted based on the defined retention period. If the retention type is quantity-based, backups will not be deleted.
The policy's retention rule was changed during backup execution. For details, see Why Isn't the New Retention Rule Being Applied?
The backups were created manually. The policy's retention rule does not apply to manual backups. They must be deleted manually.
