SAP

The SAP connector is used to interconnect with the SAP system.

The SAP system is a set of modern, information-based, and intelligent enterprise application software for enterprise resource planning (ERP). It provides reference for enterprise management and systematic planning for enterprise development. The SAP system is popular among enterprises for business modernization and informatization with streamlined process and less resources.

Creating an SAP connection

  1. Log in to the ROMA Connect console.
  1. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Connector. On the page displayed, click New Connection.
  2. Select the SAP connector.
  3. In the dialog box displayed, configure the connector and click OK.

    Enter the connector instance name.

    Region

    Select a region.

    Project

    Select a project.

    Instance

    Select ROMA Connect Instance.

    Login Language

    Select a language.

    Connection Type

    Select a SAP connection mode.

    • Direct Connection: Directly connect to the application server.
    • Load Balancing: Connect through the message server for load balancing.

    Server Host/IP

    IP address (or domain name) of the SAP server host. Enter the application server address for direct connection and the message server address for load balancing.

    System ID

    This parameter is mandatory only if Connection Mode is set to Direct Connection.

    Enter the system ID (00–99) of the SAP application server. For example, 00 indicates the default instance.

    Service Name/Port

    This parameter is mandatory only if Connection Mode is set to Load Balancing.

    Service name (for example, sapms) or port number (for example, 3600) of the message server. The value must be the same as the virtual port configured in the SAP cloud connector. If this parameter is not set, the service name is automatically generated based on the system ID.

    System ID

    This parameter is mandatory only if Connection Mode is set to Load Balancing.

    Specify the 3-character identifier (SID) of the SAP system. The SID must comply with the virtual port naming rule of the cloud connector. If this parameter is not specified, specify the message server address in Service Name/Port.

    Logon Group

    This parameter is mandatory only if Connection Mode is set to Load Balancing.

    Specify the SAP logon group, which is used to balance loads to a specific application server group. By default, the PUBLIC group is used.

    Client Number

    Enter the SAP client number (3 digits), for example, 100 or 800.

    SAP Username

    Enter the username for connecting to SAP.

    SAP Password

    Enter the password for connecting to SAP.

    Description

    Enter the description of the connector to identify it.
