Data Plane Upgrade

  • You can modify the namespace label by removing istio-injection:enabled and adding istio.io/rev: {revision} and restart some pods for testing. ({revision} indicates the version number, for example, 1-13-9-r5.) If no error occurs, you can click Upgrade to connect all service instances to the control plane of the new version.
  • During the upgrade from version 1.3 or 1.6 to 1.8, all sidecars need to be restarted at the same time due to certificate switchover.
  • After the data plane upgrade is complete, wait until the rolling upgrades of all workloads are complete.
