Overview
You can use ICAgent to collect logs from various hosts, such as physical servers and ECSs.
For the log collection process, see Figure 1.
- Install ICAgent on a host. ICAgent is a log collection tool of LTS. It runs on the host where logs are collected. During installation, select Intra-region hosts or Extra-region hosts based on the host location. For details, see Installing ICAgent (Intra-Region Hosts) and Installing ICAgent (Extra-Region Hosts).
- Create a host group. Add the host with ICAgent installed to the host group. For details, see Managing Host Groups.
- Ingest logs. LTS delivers collection configurations to ICAgent by host group, enabling ICAgent to report logs from multiple hosts to LTS based on these configurations.
- Configure indexing. After logs are ingested to LTS, configure full-text or field indexing on the index configuration page. This enables searching and analyzing the collected log data.
