Overview

You can use ICAgent to collect logs from various hosts, such as physical servers and ECSs.

For the log collection process, see Figure 1.

  1. Install ICAgent on a host. ICAgent is a log collection tool of LTS. It runs on the host where logs are collected. During installation, select Intra-region hosts or Extra-region hosts based on the host location. For details, see Installing ICAgent (Intra-Region Hosts) and Installing ICAgent (Extra-Region Hosts).
  2. Create a host group. Add the host with ICAgent installed to the host group. For details, see Managing Host Groups.
  3. Ingest logs. LTS delivers collection configurations to ICAgent by host group, enabling ICAgent to report logs from multiple hosts to LTS based on these configurations.
  4. Configure indexing. After logs are ingested to LTS, configure full-text or field indexing on the index configuration page. This enables searching and analyzing the collected log data.
